CHARLES CITY – The president of the Charles City school board was arrested last week.

James Frisbie, age 66, was stopped by a Charles City police officer near the intersection of L Street and 1st Avenue on June 16th. The police officer discovered that Frisbie had a suspended license and he was placed under arrest. He was soon released, pending a July 30th court date. He pled not guilty.

Frisbie is the President of the Charles City school board.

In February, Frisbie lost control of his 2013 Ford Explorer at the intersection of North Main Street and Riverside Drive in Charles City. He proceeded to strike a traffic light, causing about $15,000 in damage to his vehicle and the traffic light. He was transported to a Charles City hospital for treatment. Later, Frisbie told Charles City media outlets that he had a reaction to a medication which caused the crash, and that he was fine.
