PLAINFIELD – The city of Plainfield reminded residents Monday afternoon that the City of Plainfield is still under a bottled water order for drinking, cooking and washing dishes until further notice as a water main that broke is under repair.

Late Sunday, the city announced that the water is back on, but residents were still under a bottled water order for drinking, cooking and washing dishes until further notice.

Earlier Sunday, the mayor and city council announced that the entire town was without water due to a waterline break close to the water tower.   Citizens were advised to use bottled water for cooking and drinking until further notice.  Officials hoped to have the problem fixed and the water back on Sunday night.
