DES MOINES – Construction remains on schedule at the corner of Forest Ave. and 27th Street as the Shivers Basketball Practice Facility progresses with the weather finally cooperating with the construction crews.

Work has begun in earnest on the interior of the facility with the roof in place and crews are readying to pour the concrete base for the main practice floor in the coming days.

Three of the four walls of the structure are currently in place as well with the north side currently left open to facilitate the remaining large equipment on site. That wall will be erected shortly to completely enclose the facility and move the bulk of construction activity indoors.

Specialists have also begun to prepare to install utilities on the second level of the facility that will house the building’s heating/cooling units and a large hospitality suite.
