MINNEAPOLIS – The Metrodome is now rubble, and the Minnesota Vikings say that they will recycle at least 80% of the materials in the former structure.

Some fans bought seats and other debris for their own use, while most of the other materials are being sold as scrap that can be broken down and re-formatted into its original components.

According to the Vikings, 80,000 tons of concrete will be recycled, 4,500 tons of steel will be recycled, 25 tons of precious metals have been recycled and 300 tons of roof cables are being recycled.
