JANESVILLE – No foul play is suspected in the death of Daniel Fike following a police investigation and the completion of his autopsy by the State Medical Examiner’s Office.

The body of Fike, a 29 year-old Janesville resident, was discovered on December 10, 2013, by a citizen on top of the frozen Cedar River under the Old Highway 218 Bridge in Janesville.

Fike had last been seen walking across the bridge. The Janesville Police Department and Bremer County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation. The autopsy report noted the cause of death as blunt force injuries and the manner of death as suicide.
