AMES, Iowa – Iowa State had a season-high 502 yards of total offense en route to a 34-0 win over Kansas Saturday evening at Jack Trice Stadium. The Cyclones, who posted their first Big 12 shutout since Sept. 29, 2001 vs. Baylor, improve to 2-9 overall and 1-7 in conference play. Kansas falls to 3-8 overall and 1-7 in league action.

Iowa State owned a 10-0 lead early in the second quarter when the defense made a big stand, stopping the Jayhawks on a fourth-and-one at the ISU 13. Jacques Washington and Cory Morrissey stuffed James Sims, who rushed for 211 yards last weekend against West Virginia, to keep KU off the scoreboard.

Quarterback Grant Rohach had plenty of help but the redshirt freshman was solid in leading the Cyclones to the win. Rohach completed 15-of-20 passes for a career-high 300 yards and a TD.

A trio of seniors made an impact in their final games at Jack Trice Stadium. Justin Coleman had a career-high eight catches for 78 yards. Shontrelle Johnson ran for 84 yards and scored a touchdown and fellow running back James White also got in the end zone and had 33 yards in the game.

The Cyclones finished with season-highs of 300 passing yards and 202 rushing yards.

Seniors Jeremiah George and Jacques Washington were instrumental in Iowa State posting its first conference shutout in over a decade. George finished with a game-high 14 tackles and forced his first-career fumble in the game. George had 1.5 tackles for a loss and now has 11 tackles for a loss this season, all of which have come in Big 12 play.

Washington recovered the fumble that George forced and finished the game with a career-high tying 13 tackles. Washington became the third Iowa State defensive back with 300 career tackles. He is the 16th Cyclone overall with 300 career stops.
