AMES – Iowa State had five players in double figures and outscored Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 43-26, in the second half to earn the 80-50 win Tuesday night at Hilton Coliseum. Iowa State improves to 2-0 this season, while Texas A&M-Corpus Christi falls to 1-1.
Dustin Hogue brought the energy to the second half for the Cyclones, who got a three from Matt Thomas late in the first half to take a 13-point lead into the second half. Hogue had three points and two rebounds in the opening frame and finished the game with 13 points, eight boards and two steals.
The Cyclones extended the lead to as many as 33 and cruised to the 30-point win.
