MASON CITY – A local man was charged with a moving violation after a two car accident Thursday in Mason City.
Police said that Thursday at about 7:06 PM, Ben Dirksen, 18, of Mason City was driving a Chevy Tahoe behind a Chevy Cadillac driven by Leon Stitts Junior at the intersection of 13th Street and South Federal. Stitts had slowed or stopped to turn when Dirksen’s vehicle collided with the read of the Caddy.
Dirksen was charged with failure to stop in assured clear distance. There were no injuries reported in the incident.
Dirksen plead guilty to failure to maintain control of his vehicle in 2011 in Hancock county.
