The Globe ran an editorial today about the city saving one million dollars. one of the things on the list was doing away with the park superintendent job and “assigning” those duites to the operations manager and the street superintendent. At the time that was done, those 2 were given raises over $20,000 annually. In the private sector, they would have been told these duties were being given to them to help save money, without the huge raises. Now these two have bloated salaries way too high for a city of this size, and these salaries will be in effect till they retire. I thought at the time that this was outrageous.||
