MASON CITY – A fine group of ladies from Fort Dodge stopped in Mason City Saturday morning to “see the sights.”
The Red Hat Ladies of Fort Dodge got to town at about 10 AM and took a stroll around the grounds outside the Frank Lloyd Wright House and the Music Man Square.
That’s were they ran into a bit of a problem, trying to figure out the fastest way to the Historic Park Inn.
“That’s what we really came to see,” the ladies said. “We’re here to see the sights!”
The group – after getting pointed in the right direction – were expecting to take a tour of the HPI Hotel and then were going to have a lunch at either Chop Restaurant, Lorados or the Suzie Q.
They said there’s lots of great things going on in Fort Dodge as well, including a good bit of industrial expansion and new jobs in their industrial park on the west side of the city.
The Red Hat Ladies are members of what some say are the largest women’s social group in the world and takes trips to places like Mason City and other area destinations “just for the fun of it.”
