Belmond, Vegas women nabbed allegedly trying to steal clothes from Kohl’s

MASON CITY – Two female subjects were nabbed late last week for attempting to steal from a Mason City department store.

On July 19th at about 3:30 PM, Mason City police were called to Kohl’s department store, 556 Indianhead Drive, for two female shoplifters.  Police said that approximately $210 worth of clothes were allegedly shoplifted.

Police arrived and arrested Michelle Marie Watson, 31, of Belmond, Iowa, and Tina Renee Smith, 33, of Las Vegas, Nevada. Watson was charged with 4th Degree Theft and Unlawful Possession of Prescription Drugs; Smith was charged with 3rd Degree Theft (enhanced to 3rd Degree due to prior theft convictions).

Both subjects were held for bond or initial appearance.
