logo_iowa_state_cyclonesAMES, Iowa – Iowa State senior running back James White is a preseason candidate for the 2013 Doak Walker Award, an award presented annually to the nation’s top college running back. White was a preseason candidate for the award as a junior in 2012.

A native of Dallas, Texas, White has led the Cyclones in rushing the past two seasons (2011- 743; 2012- 505) and is the team’s top returning career rusher with 1,260 yards.

A 2011 Honorable Mention All-Big 12 pick, White is aiming to become just the seventh Cyclone back in school history to lead the team in rushing for three or more seasons. White’s 4.79 yards per carry average is the sixth-best total in school history (minimum 200 attempts).
