Four children among five killed in Georgia house fire

NEWMAN, Ga., April 27 (UPI) — An overnight house fire in Georgia claimed the lives of five people, including four young children, authorities said.

The blaze destroyed the house in Newman Friday night, but not before a passerby pulled a 10-year-old girl to safety.

Police Chief Douglas Meadows told CNN the adult victim, 28-year-old Alonna McCrary, was the mother of two of the kids. All of the children, however, were related.

The children were all under the age of 5. The cause of the fire was under investigation Saturday.
