MASON CITY – NIACC’s Lashae Brooks put herself into the record books Wednesday night.

The freshman post from Nett Lake, Minn., blocked 12 shots in NIACC’s 69-47 victory over Ellsworth in the NIACC gym.

Brooks shares the mark with Hailey Galvan of Owens Community College (Ohio), who blocked 12 shots against Mid-Michigan Community College on Nov. 12, 2011.

Brooks, whose previous career best was seven blocks against Marshalltown on Feb. 2, has 77 blocks this season, which ranks second in the ICCAC and 12th in the NJCAA Division II.

NIACC (18-12 overall, 11-5 in the ICCAC) has won five straight contests, which is its longest winning streak of the season. The Lady Trojans host a Region XI tournament game on Tuesday.
