BAGHDAD, Feb. 15 (UPI) — A police officer was shot to death, another was killed by an explosive device and 11 civilians were injured in separate incidents in Iraq, officials said.

“Unidentified gunmen attacked [a] policeman, Kilan Qadori, near his residence of central Baquba, killing him immediately,” a security official said.

“The security forces blocked the area to search for the doers,” the official said.

The other police officer was killed in northern Tikrit by an adhesive explosive device, Iraqnews.com reported.

“The AED was emplaced on the side road, exploded to kill the policeman when he was heading to Sdira village of Sharqat district of northern Tikrit,” another security official said. “The security forces blocked the area and transferred the dead to the morgue.”

The civilians were injured by a car bomb in Baghdad.

“A car bomb exploded targeting a mosque in al-Muqdadiya district, resulting in injuring 11 citizens as a primary statistic,” a security official said. “The security forces killed a suicide bomber who intended to detonate himself after the explosion near the mosque.”
