As officers approached the apartment to conduct the search, three subjects, one of whom later was identified as Jamarlo Scales, exited a back door and, upon seeing the police officers, fled back into the apartment. Scales then jumped out a second floor window and ran off with a black duffle bag. When police apprehended Scales a short distance away, he threw the black duffle bag at the officers. The duffle bag contained approximately 500 grams of cocaine, 127 grams of crack cocaine, and over $76,000 in cash. Police found 880 grams of marijuana and a handgun in the apartment.
