Mason City School Board to meet Monday

MASON CITY – The Mason City Community School District Board of Education will meet in regular session on Monday, August 20, 2012 at 5:30 p.m. in the Board Room of the Administration Building at 1515 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City, Iowa.

DATES FOR THE CALENDAR
Aug. 20 – New Teacher Reception, Lincoln Intermediate Commons – 8:00 a.m.
Aug. 20 – New Teacher Luncheon with Board and Administration, Lincoln Intermediate – 11:30 am
Aug. 20-22 – Mason City Alternative School Registration – 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
Aug. 24 – First Day for Teachers – Meeting Free Work Day
Aug. 27 – All Staff Meeting, Lincoln Intermediate Gym – 8:15 a.m.
Aug. 29 – Beginning of the Year Parent-Teacher Conferences Grades K-6
Aug. 29 – Classes for JAMS, Alt. HS and New Mohawk Day at MCHS (9th grade & new students only)
Aug. 30 – Classes for K-4, 5th grade and 7-12 students (1/2 of kindergarten classes will be in session)
Aug. 30 – Alternative High School Parent Orientation – 1:00-3:00 p.m. or 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Aug. 31 – Classes for K-4 , 5-6 grade and 7-12 students (1/2 of kindergarten classes will be in session)
Sept. 3 – NO SCHOOL – Labor Day
Sept. 4 – JAMS 7 and JAMS 8 Back-to-School Night – 5:30 p.m.
Sept. 4 – Mason City High School Back-to-School Night – 6:30 p.m.
Sept. 5 – First Day of Classes for Preschool and Early Childhood Students
Sept. 17 – Regular Meeting, Board of Education – 5:30 p.m.

  1. Don’t worry people, this is being held in the holy land on the Southeast side. No worries about gang bustin’ shootouts or anyone shooting up in the parking lot like the North End. Dang Tootin’ Northend!
