MASON CITY – The Mason City Police and Fire Departments responded to a report of a two vehicle accident on South California Avenue and Highway 122 on Friday.
A thirty-one year old female was taken to Mercy Medical Hospital in Mason City by ambulance when her car was struck by an oncoming truck, eastbound on Highway 122.
Apparently, she did not come to a complete stop at the stop sign on South California Avenue. According to the driver of the Chevy truck, Don Hutzell and his grandson Wayne Hutzell, age 13, “We were heading east, going fifty miles on hour. They didn’t stop. They just rolled through the stop sign.”
The three occupants of the truck were uninjured.
