MASON CITY – Cerro Gordo County Supervisors awarded a contract to Heartland Asphalt for a B-20 reconstruction project. The 3-mile stretch of road is from Balsam Avenue to Eagle Avenue. Iowa DOT farm-to-market funds are paying for the $1,796,402.76 million project.

County Engineer Mary Kelly said there is one more stretch of B-20 she would like to see completed next year.  The road will have some detours as the work is completed.

The Supervisors also OK’d some minor changes to this year’s county budget.

A partnership with Story County to share the Precinct Atlas software was approved.

  1. what is wrong with b20? maybe they should put some money into hwy65 since it tears vehicles up coming and going into mason city just a thought

    1. Highway 65 is a state road. B20 is a county road. Therefore the county is responsible for B20 and not Highway 65.
