MASON CITY, Iowa – NIACC softball players Hailey Eckstein, Beth Mildenhall, Krista Grutz, and Cassie Pappas have been named All-Region XI players.
Eckstein, a freshman out of Larsen, Wisconsin, was named 2nd-Team All-Region for infield. She hit .362 with seven homeruns and 32 RBI. She also stole 10 bases and had only five errors in 45 games.
Mildenhall earned honorable mention honors. A freshman outfielder from Eldora, Iowa, she hit .359, scored 32 runs and stole 16 bases on 17 attempts in her freshman campaign.
Grutz also earned honorable mention honors for her outfield play. The freshman out of Dubuque led the Trojans in batting average at .411 and in hits with 58.
Mason City’s Pappas was named honorable mention utility player. She hit .355 this season and led NIACC in RBI with 36.
The Trojans were 12-33 this past season, but had no sophomores on the team.
