MASON CITY – At 2:30 p.m. Sunday, the Mason City Police Department was dispatched to 509 4th NE.
They were asked to be a standby because a resident of the house had a gun.
The police officers cleared the way for helpers to enter the house and bring out totes of personal belongings.
This is the same house where Christopher Upenieks, 29, was shot in the leg by his four year old son on February 27th.
On March 2nd, Upenieks was charged with the following crimes after his four year-old son allegedly shot him in the knee on February 27th, 2012:
– Child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor
– Allowing a minor access to a firearm, a serious midemeanor
Upenieks was cited and released to appear on those charges.
“They were asked to be a standby because the residence of the house had a gun.”
Could it be that maybe the “resident” had a gun?
If the police are going to do a stand by on every domestic dispute where there is a gun in the house they are going to be very busy. Sounds like over reaction to me.
Matt-This code crap is getting to be more than it is worth. Settle on one and leave it alone.
Larry… sorry about this. I feel this one is much easier for people to use. My goal is to make it as simple as possible and one day do away with it completely. Thanks again for your patience.
Is the code right this time?
