By Rene Rodriguez, McClatchy Newspapers –

CASA DE MI PADRE (R): Everything you’ve heard about this movie is true. Will Ferrell does speak Spanish through, playing the black-sheep son of a Mexican patriarch who crosses paths with a murderous baddie (Gael Garcia Bernal). Part telenovela, part grindhouse schlock and part indescribable lunacy.

JEFF, WHO LIVES AT HOME (PG-13): Filmmaking brothers Mark and Jay Duplass (“Cyrus,” “Baghead”) return with this curious comedy about a 30-year-old slacker (Jason Segel) searching for direction in his life and his overachieving, cynical brother (Ed Helms). Susan Sarandon co-stars as the pair’s exasperated mom.

SEEKING JUSTICE (R): Another week, another Nicolas Cage movie. In this one, the actor plays a husband who hires some vigilantes to help him exact revenge on the men who assaulted his wife.

21 JUMP STREET (R): Here’s a late-winter surprise: An absolutely hilarious adaptation of the cult TV series, starring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum as two police officers posing as high school students for an undercover mission to nab a drug dealer. Funny, sweet, inventive and totally adorable — and super R-rated, too.
