Op-ed: Council is sit-com of total predictability (by Peter Children)

Micro initiative is once again on the table, the Globe would have you believe the three former council persons turned it down out of hand. Not true. In the light of day I believe their main reason was that it lacked clarity, it had no opening and no closing, it was poorly written and needed to be restructured.

I don’t think it was ever an issue of money or desire by theses three to stifle incentive.  These were conservative stewards of taxpayer money, they worried about cost.  Hopefully it has been rewritten but there is no assurance of that. If you are at all concerned then you should contact your council representative and voice your concern….not that they themselves care what you think, or for that matter understand it themselves.

Bookmeyer will re-initiate every issue the former council refused him simply because he now has a rubber stamp council, remember he has always had three votes that were a given,  offered up by people who are stealing their salaries and now with the third ward representative, who I predict will be temporary, his dream of building a new Rome has come true.

Before the last election, the council meetings were a interesting mix of give and take, of pro and con, a study in how democracy really works; now it will evolve into a bad sitcom of total predictability.

  1. neknoh calm down. Haven’t you heard bullying isn’t popular right now? It’s a free country, people can say what they want including you.

  2. How true! Anybody I mean anybody can see this scam. They think we are stupid. They are off their nut by about a mile. Very funny!

  3. Peter:

I say this to you again; you had a chance to run for council and make a difference. Its obvious that you have a following of some kind.

Election for mayor is coming up soon, why not throw your hat in the ring and run? You seem able to point out everything that is wrong.

Its time you either put up or shut up. Its your call. Either you have what it takes or you don’t.
