(DES MOINES) – Gov. Branstad and Lt. Gov. Reynolds have completed their visit to all 99 of Iowa’s counties for 2011. Gov. Branstad finished his tour Tuesday night in Emmet County. Lt. Gov. Reynolds made a morning stop in Butler County today to finish her tour.

“I believe the best way to connect with the people of Iowa is to visit them each year,” said Branstad. “Lt. Governor Reynolds and I will continue to visit every county every year to discuss with hard-working Iowans the issues our state faces.”

Since taking office on January 14, 2011, Gov. Branstad and Lt. Gov. Reynolds have held 730 public events throughout the state.

“These visits reaffirm our commitment to openness, honesty and accountability to Iowans,” said Lt. Gov. Reynolds.

Iowans wishing to track the governor and lt. governor’s 99 county visits may track their progress at the following Web pages: https://governor.iowa.gov/news/99counties and https://ltgovernor.iowa.gov/newsroom/99counties. The sites feature a Google map with a pin in the locations of public events in each of Iowa’s 99 counties. The map will be reset on January 1, 2012 as the pair begins a new tour of the 99 counties.
