MASON CITY – The Mason City City Council will hear a special presentation tonight from Creative Energy Solutions (CES), a “Colorado Green Energy” company about a proposed waste to gas plant that CES would like to build on Mason City’s south side, adjacent to the Golden Grain plant.
CES says in the council packet on page 149 that they “welcome public discourse on our project.”
NorthIowaToday.com is told that there will be at least several speakers taking the podium during the public forum to give their concerns about this project.
In other business, the council will take action on the hiring of a meter repair person, an urban revitalization plan, and OK changes to city codes.
Alliant Energy is also back on the agenda for the second reading of a proposed franchise agreement with the city to provide electricity and natural gas. Alliant says if no deal is done soon, a $500,000 bill will be passed along to the city.
More on tonight’s meeting coming later.
