Iowa bank robbed in broad daylight by frightening armed intruder

WEST DES MOINES – An Iowa bank was robbed Wednesday by a frightening armed intruder.

On Wednesday, July 13th at approximately 11:51 AM, the West Des Moines Police Department responded to reports of an armed robbery that had just taken place at the First Class Credit Union located at 2051 Westown Parkway.

Officers arrived a short time later and were informed the suspect had fled the scene prior to their arrival.  A search of the area ensued but the suspect was not located.  During the robbery, the suspect displayed a silver-colored handgun and left with an undisclosed amount of currency.

West Des Moines Police Detectives are currently engaged in an active investigation into the robbery and are seeking tips from the public.
