Former Mayor Jean Marinos says she is running for Mason City City Council.
Marinos confirmed her candidacy today to NorthIowaToday.com.
“Word seems to travel fast,” she said, about people finding out about her intentions to run.
Marinos will be running for the third ward council seat currently held by Don Nelson.
Marinos has not yet turned in the official paperwork, including the 40 required signatures, to be an official candidate. She says she will be turning them in “asap.”
Marinos was mayor of Mason City from 2003 to 2006. Roger Bang succeeded her as Mayor.|
