On July 12, 2011, at 1:55 pm, A Mason City Police Officer was checking a vacant property located at 3008 N. Carolina. Near the property, someone had recently parked an unfamiliar vehicle parked. The Officer located two subjects inside the building. After further investigation, it was determined the two subjects had committed serious damage to the building in an attempt to remove copper wiring and tubing. They did not have permission from the owner to be in the building.
Arrested and charged with 3rd Degree Burglary, a class “D” felony and possession of Burglary tools, an aggravated misdemeanor:
– Donald Eugene Abendroth, 807 N. Adams, Mason City, IA age 51 years
– David Lynn Lunde, 310 19th Street SE, Mason City, IA 48 years.
Both subjects were released to the Cerro Gordo County Jail.
