North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) will offer a free computer course that will help women become familiar with technology. The course, delivered in a series of three classes, is designed to help women feel comfortable and at ease behind a computer. The two-hour classes will be held at 1:00 p.m. on April 29, May 6 and May 13, in room PC 229 on the NIACC campus.
“If you are new to computers or if technology makes you nervous, this course is a perfect solution,” Marie Thomes, NIACC Business Division instructor, said. When you take the classes, you will learn how to use email, manage electronic files and folders, make a simple word document, how to explore the Internet and even how to upload pictures from a digital camera.
Funded through a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Gender Equity grant, this course is intended for women ages 18 and up.
To register for the free course or to find out more information, call Marie Thomes at 641-422-4282, or send an email to thomemar@niacc.edu
