Wanda Kruse case update

Lawyers for Wanda Kruse have have not been provided with the discovery evidence they requested on January 19th, according to a source close to the case.

The court date is set tentatively set for February 15th in Cerro Gordo County District Court. A change of venue motion has not yet been ruled upon.

Now Kruse’s lawyers have filed a motion to remove the Cerro Gordo County prosecutor’s office as prosecutor. If the motion is successful, who would prosecute the case or if the case could continue is not clear. A Hancock County prosecutor recently resigned from the case.

According to the source, the Iowa Attorney General’s office has refused to pursue the case.

Kruse has been charged with second-degree theft by misappropriation of funds while employed as the North Iowa Fair manager.|
