Shots fired in Mason City; man arrested

On Thursday morning, January 13, at about 8 AM, a citizen reported a subject shooting a handgun in the air at the intersection of 1st Street NE and Pierce Avenue. The vehicle was stopped by a Mason City police officer at the intersection of 8th Street SE and South Polik Place. Officers arrested Benjamin Bravo Gonzalez, age 27, of Mason City for carrying weapons and discharging a weappn in City limits. Gonzalez is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on a $2,000.00 bond. A 9 MM semi-automtic hadgun was recovered during the traffic stop. Gonzalez did not have a permit to carry a handgun.|
