MASON CITY – A Mason City man is facing a sex abuse charge after an alleged crime committed this past winter.
Mason City police investigated a criminal complaint of a sex assault back in April of this year. This investigation led to an arrest warrant issued on May 22 after a warrant was initially denied on April 26. The warrant was finally served by Mason City police on December 5 on 20-year-old Paul Bernard Grell of Mason City. He allegedly met a person in Mason City on February 29 and committed the crime then.
Grell remains in the county jail on $5,000 cash-only bond as he awaits a December 15 hearing. He is also facing a drug charge (marijuana) out of Floyd county.
