MOBILE, ALABAMA – A Republican former judge embroiled in an election to the U.S. Senate says a teen sex encounter allegation against him is “baseless” amid calls for hi to drop out of the race.
According to the Washington Post, Roy Moore of Alabama had a sexual encounter with a 14-year-old girl back in 1979. He was 32-years-old at the time.
The Moore campaign responded with a statement:
Today, the Judge Roy Moore Campaign for U.S. Senate issued a statement responding to yet another baseless political attack by the Washington Post, a paper that has endorsed Judge Moore’s opponent. Moore campaign chair Bill Armistead released the following statement on Thursday afternoon:
“Judge Roy Moore has endured the most outlandish attacks on any candidate in the modern political arena, but this story in today’s Washington Post alleging sexual impropriety takes the cake. National liberal organizations know their chosen candidate Doug Jones is in a death spiral, and this is their last ditch Hail Mary.
“The Washington Post has already endorsed the Judge’s opponent, and for months, they have engaged in a systematic campaign to distort the truth about the Judge’s record and career and derail his campaign. In fact, just two days ago, the Foundation for Moral Law sent a retraction demand to the Post for the false stories they wrote about the Judge’s work and compensation. But apparently, there is no end to what the Post will allege.
“The Judge has been married to Kayla for nearly 33 years, has 4 children, and 5 grandchildren. He has been a candidate in four hotly-contested statewide political contests, twice as a gubernatorial candidate and twice as a candidate for chief justice. He has been a three-time candidate for local office, and he has been a national figure in two ground-breaking, judicial fights over religious liberty and traditional marriage. After over 40 years of public service, if any of these allegations were true, they would have been made public long before now.
“Judge Roy Moore is winning with a double-digit lead. So it is no surprise, with just over four weeks remaining, in a race for the U.S. Senate with national implications, that the Democratic Party and the country’s most liberal newspaper would come up with a fabrication of this kind.
“This garbage is the very definition of fake news and intentional defamation.”
On Thursday, Judge Moore called the allegations by the Post “completely false and a desperate political attack.”
According to the Moore campaign website, “Judge Moore was overwhelmingly re-elected by a vote of the people of Alabama as Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court in November of 2012 and took office in January of 2013. In 2016, Judge Moore was suspended for upholding the sanctity of marriage as between one man and one woman. He retired to seek the office of U.S. Senate in 2017.”
In the wake of the allegation, some top U.S. lawmakers are calling for Moore to step aside in the election.
Reportedly, Moore was once moved from a case for refusing to let a lesbian mother visit her children.
If there is any truth at all to these horrific allegations, Roy Moore should immediately step aside as a Senate candidate.

Let’s see. Many republicans jump on the bandwagon and have found him guilty before he can defend himself. Charge is decades old and now four weeks before an election the swamp wants him out. They are all demanding him to step down IF he is guilty. So what choice does he have. Step down like they want him to do and they will all say, “well he must be guilty” and he is assumed guilty. If I were him I would stay in and fight this nonsense. Too many “me toos” making all these allegations a little less believable.

Anyone with half a brain can construe that Roy was behaving inappropriately while an assistant DA, and more than likely did what Leigh Corfman said he did. Actually the only part of Roy’s behavior that is abnormal is his hypocritical, delusional fixation on and espousement of Bible based social morays. Being a male attracted to blossoming young tang is what every normal caveman of the past did. Roy just got an earlier start than his Alabama laws allowed for. Roy is an activist for more biologically congruent consent laws. Old enough to breed as they say. Had Roy been living in Tennessee he’d be having an easier time with all of this.
