CLEAR LAKE, IOWA – Congressman Steve King stopped in Clear Lake Thursday and discussed the important topic of water quality as he met with top officials there.
Clear Lake City Administrator Scott Flory tells NIT that during a recent trip to Washington, D.C., there was a discussion with Congressman Steve King and his staff “about some of our recent successes with Lake water quality improvement and the McKesson Project. He was very interested in both of those and his staffers inquired about making arrangements for him to get a first-hand perspective of each of those when he made a subsequent trip to North Iowa.”
Congressman King remarked that “it was great meeting with Jim Sholly, Nelson Crabb, Scott Flory and TJ Herrick to learn more about the Clear Lake watershed project. I am encouraged by the work they are doing to improve our water quality in Clear Lake, Mason City, Ventura, Cerro Gordo County and Hancock County.”
The Ventura Marsh Restoration project was a federally funded project and was designed by the Army Corp of Engineers, Mr. Flory tells NIT, which was completed about 6 years or so ago.
“Likewise, the McKesson project was one of the most notable economic development projects in (Steve King’s) district in the last couple years,” Mr. Flory explained.
“They were just starting operations this past Monday. We enjoyed the visit.”
Where was this phony hiding when the hog plant was about to pollute everything in cerro gordo county last week – not to mention all the towns south of us that are drinking our pig chit laden water. These large hog farmers are draining their hog lot run offs directly into Iowa wetlands which are the creators of our aquifers (thats underground water to you city folks) trump 2016
