MINNEAPOLIS – The following is a statement is response to the Democratic National Committee resolution expressing support for the Black Lives Matter movement, and can be attributed to the Black Lives Matter Network, including its 26 chapters nationwide.
“A resolution signaling the Democratic National Committee’s endorsement that Black lives matter, in no way implies an endorsement of the DNC by the Black Lives Matter Network, nor was it done in consultation with us. We do not now, nor have we ever, endorsed or affiliated with the Democratic Party, or with any party. The Democratic Party, like the Republican and all political parties, have historically attempted to control or contain Black people’s efforts to liberate ourselves. True change requires real struggle, and that struggle will be in the streets and led by the people, not by a political party.
More specifically, the Black Lives Matter Network is clear that a resolution from the Democratic National Committee won’t bring the changes we seek. Resolutions without concrete change are just business as usual. Promises are not policies. We demand freedom for Black bodies, justice for Black lives, safety for Black communities, and rights for Black people. We demand action, not words, from those who purport to stand with us.
While the Black Lives Matter Network applauds political change towards making the world safer for Black life, our only endorsement goes to the protest movement we’ve built together with Black people nationwide — not the self-interested candidates, parties, or political machine seeking our vote.”
Twice as many whites are killed by police every year. The difference is whites don’t use it for an excuse to riot, burn ,and steal. Also more blacks die at the hands of other blacks in one weekend in Chicago than all year by police. You don’t want confrontation with police just obay the law. God protect our men and women in blue.
I read somewhere recently, and I agree, that if you don’t know why Black Lives Matter is important, then you are part of the problem. And you are.
@bodacious-I agree with you but I must say that “ALL” lives matter and they did themselves a lot of harm when they started chanting about killing policemen. In my opinion the went from being a activist to being a terrorist. They are losing their message because of a few radicals. I also feel that they should address the black on black killings which is much worse than the occasional police killing.
@LVS, I agree with you about the radical few who have hijacked this movement. I also agree with them rejecting the endorsement of the Democrats. Endorsing their movement does nothing unless action is taken to rectify the situation.
These radical few, I would be willing to bet that you could trace them back to sharpton or jackson or even soros.
David, don’t try to turn this into a argument. If you think it is so, then do your homework and find out who these guys are. Saying they are pawns of those 3 means nothing. It just shows how paranoid you are.
How was my statement trying to start an argument? With the history of sharpton and jackson and race baiting and soros funding the protesters at ferguson it isn’t hard to figure things out. But then again this is just my opinion.

@Anonymous-The Klan never went away. They are there but not very visible. I don’t think they are the answer. Some of those people just want a decent home and a opportunity. We need some way to separate the good from the bad. If enough people got together and said enough I think that might do it.
