MASON CITY – A Mason City man was caught by police carrying illegal narcotics as well as a dangerous weapon.
Early Thursday morning, August 20 at about 4:27 AM near the 800 block of 3rd Street NE, a Mason City police officer spotted what was described in a report as a “suspicious subject”. Officers were called to that area on a report of a burglary. Officers attempted to make an investigatory contact with 32-year-old Matthew Seth Boese of Mason City, who was non-compliant with officers. During the ensuing investigation, Boese was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana and an dangerous weapon police described as a “fixed-blade knife”.
As Boese was being arrested, he allegedly interfered with the officer and was uncompliant. This action brought a charge of interference with official acts.
Boese remained in jail Saturday on $2,000 bond as he awaits a court date this week.

i think the trial comes first then the punishment
$2000 bond for meth? That’s it? No wonder there is a drug problem in North Iowa.
That is $200.00. Bond is only 10%. They can all come up with $200. There is no real punishment.
