MASON CITY – According to reports, the Iran nuclear deal could drive gas prices much lower than they already are.
CNN reported today that in the wake of a nuclear deal with Iran, gas prices are likely to plummet to $2 per gallon or lower. Oil prices are extremely low right now, driving some petroleum companies to bankruptcy. If Congress approves a nuclear arms deal announced today and negotiated by the Obama Administration, a new glut of millions of barrels of oil will hit the market, further decimating oil prices. A result of that will be much lower prices at the pump.
Gas prices in the Mason City area are already well below $3 a gallon, a welcome relief from years past when prices hit $4 or more. The low prices could be seen by December.

@Anonymous-Probably because of the terrorism shootings in Tennessee. They use any excuse to raise it over night and then bring it down real slowly. They should be prosecuted for gouging the public. That is what happens when you only have two major suppliers. Unless you want to take a chance on burning out your engine with WalMart gas.

Gas has gone up 70 cents a gallon the past few months and the price of oil only moved a little. So………….
I don’t mind paying higher prices for gas, if you can’t afford it, don’t drive.

I think you have the city gas prices wrong here. You may be talking about premium at some of these stations. Most are at $2.54 and a couple at $2.48.
