MASON CITY – A man was arrested Sunday afternoon after police were called to a Mason City park to check on the status of an unconscious person laying in the grass.
Sunday afternoon at about 2:10 PM, police, fire and ambulance went to Parker’s Woods, at about the 300 block of North Jackson Avenue, to check on the status of possibly two males that were laying in the grass. It was said that one of the males may have not been breathing.
At the scene, one male was up and talking to police, who drove out on to the grass to get closer.
After investigating the situation, Mason City police then arrested a male subject, 25-year-old Davit Jimmy Otto, no address given, on a charge of public intoxication. He was taken to jail, booked, and held on bond.

Just another damn import polluting our city. Can you imagine what the kids thought seeing something like that in our park in broad daylight?
Just some visitors from chitcago – greyhounders.
Isn’t it nice to know your children can go out and play in Parker’s Woods to find drunks laying in the grass?
Seems to me maybe they were boyfriend and boyfriend. The park is not a place to sleep with the playground so close, also being drunk with kids around not a good mix
I guess that it’s illegal to lay on the grass in a park.
Everything is illegal to us ordinary citizens in Mason city.
So what happened to the other guy??
