WASHINGTON – As the war between Hamas terrorists and Israel rages, the United States announced Monday millions of dollars in humanitarian assistance for Gaza.

Today, Secretary of State John Kerry announced that the United States is providing $47 million to help address the humanitarian situation in Gaza. This assistance includes:

  • An initial $15 million contribution to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) in response to UNRWA’s $60 million Gaza Flash Appeal;
  • $3.5 million in emergency relief assistance from USAID’s Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA);
  • $10 million in existing USAID bilateral funding, redirected to meet immediate humanitarian needs; and
  • $18.5 million in new USAID bilateral funding for humanitarian and emergency relief assistance.

These funds will provide critical humanitarian aid, including shelter, food, and medical supplies to Palestinians in Gaza. The United States remains committed to addressing the humanitarian needs of the Palestinian people, and will continue to monitor the humanitarian situation closely.

The 47 million being sent to Gaza would be better spent on our needs at home, like the infrastructure which is falling apart. Sending it to Gaza will only strengthen Hamas, which the U.S. and other countries consider to be a terrorist organization, and enable it to buy more rockets, bombs, ammunition, and other materials of war to be used against Israel and any other country or group, i.e. Fatah, that opposes them.

Israel should drive them right into the sea. It’s really pretty simple over a 1000 rockets have been fired on Isreal. In my book that calls for utter destruction. The only way to deal with terror is to create more terror on those who attempt to inflict it on you. One rocket fired on Isreal an entire section of Gaza obliterated. One Israel soldier killed/civilian equals 1000+ palensteins killed. They would soon stop hiding behind children.
