ST LOUIS, Mo. – University of Northern Iowa junior forward Seth Tuttle has been named the Missouri Valley Conference’s Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, as announced by the league office.
Tuttle (Sheffield, Iowa/West Fork HS) averaged 22.5 ppg, 7.0 rpg and 3.5 apg in the Panthers’s two-game stretch at Southern Illinois and at home vs. Missouri State. Tuttle tied a career-high with 24 points and had nine rebounds at SIU on Tuesday. Tuttle followed that up with 21 points, five rebounds and four assists in a 94-89 win over Missouri State. Tuttle drained 7-of-9 field goals against the Bears. For the week, Tuttle shot 59.3 percent (16-of-27) from the field and 81.3 percent (13-of-16) from the foul line.
This is the second time in Tuttle’s career that he has been named the MVC Player of the Week.
UNI will be in action Wednesday at Bradley. Tip is slated for 7 p.m. at Carver Arena in Peoria, Ill. With 16 points on Wednesday, Tuttle would reach the 1,000-point mark in his collegiate career.
