CHARLES CITY -A Charles City couple has been arrested after an investigation into car burglaries in town.
Captian Hugh Anderson told NIT that two persons, Katelyn Speakar, age 19, and Adam Mares, age 21, were arrested Wednesday.
On June 16th, Charles City police officers responded to the 800 block of Clark Street for a report of a couple engaged in car burglaries. Police said that with the assistance of citizens, officers were able to identify and stop the two individuals allegedly involved in the crimes. Charges were, however, pending at that time as an investigation was then underway.
On June 25th, Speakar was charged with two counts of burglary in the third degree and Mares was charged with aiding and abetting the burglaries.
Court dates are pending.
