MASON CITY – A local teen has now been missing for four days.
According to a report, Sierra R. Jones, age 16 of Mason City, went missing on December 19th. Mason City police were notified on that day that she was missing.
There was no immediate information available about Sierra’s disappearance as of Monday afternoon.

I hope this is as you say it is.,. Just her hanging with her friends or her boyfriend. I agree the sex offender laws can be very draconian. The label “sex offender” should really only be reserved for rapists and molestors. Also I read in the Iowa code that the age of consent in Iowa is 16, but there are caveats attached with it. No 19 year old should be labelled a sex offender because they may be dating a 15 year old if it is consensual. I was 18 dating a 15 and 16 year old during and shortly after high school. Her mother used to invite me in and let me stay over night and liked me. One mom even insisted I use condoms and keep her daughter at home and sleep with her in her bedroom. Yeah no joke… Right here in river city. But anyway I don’t want to get too off subject here. I hope this young lady is alright wherever and whomever she is with.
Shes probably hanging out with her older boyfriend. Society has changed a lot though. I remember back in the early 80’s when my 15-16 year of girlfriend stayed in my room at my parents house for 1l days. I was over 18. I’d take her to McDonald’s for breakfast, then to school and then I’d drive to NIACC. She’s now married to a doctor, has several homes and is a millionaire.
Today I’d be a convicted sex offender, for life I’m sure. Society is just insane today.
