West Park trails under repair

MASON CITY – Trails south of West Park tennis courts are currently under repair.

The Mason City Council at their September 4th meeting selected Heartland Asphalt to do the work.  Their bid was $16,970.05.

This project is part of a CIP (capitol improvements project) that began with $50,000 in funding.

Trails south of the West Park tennis courts are under repair at this time. Heartland Asphalt is completing the work.

Since it’s Heartland doing the repair work, are they going to lay down blacktop or leave it lime chips. Also, are they going to do anything with the other side of the trail on the north side of first street. It would be great if they blacktopped it all the way to pierce. Thats a nice walking trail, use it often.

No, don’t pave it. I too use that path alot and I love the dirt path. Especially love it in the fall when all the leaves fall. There’s not that many dirt paths that a person can walk without going to Lime Creek.

Better hope Mercy never wants to move that far over!!!!! You say it can’t happen – anything can happen when Mercy is involved and our reigning city council

No kidding! I see now why Mercy bought all those houses & rented them out, this way no one can stop them from expanding.
