Iowa juvenile sets multiple fires, destroying a Casey’s store and a school bus

MAXWELL, IOWA – An Iowa juvenile set multiple fires, destroying a Casey’s store and a school bus, but now faces felony charges.

The Story County Sheriffs Office had been investigating two suspicious structure fires at Casey’s General Store in Maxwell Iowa that occurred on February 3 and again on February 6, 2022 On March 9, 2022 at approximately 3 32 am , a fire alarm was reported at the Collins-Maxwell High School in Maxwell. whereas a bus was discovered to be on fire. Investigators were able to obtain evidence that led to the arrest of a 17-year-old male for all three fires. He has been charged with the following offenses:

First Degree Arson 712.2, Class B Felony
Second Degree Arson 712 3 (2 counts), Class C Felony
First Degree Criminal Mischief (2 counts), Class C Felony

The Casey’s building and school bus have been determined to be complete losses.

Casey’s must NOT have sold alcohol or tobacco to him.

Then why didn’t he drive the bus into the building?

The driver of that bus was also the cashier at Casey’s. Thanks to the kids being tele-taught, they had to make money some how.

Damn, l missed the bus
