Cops raid Northern Iowa home after drugs left in plain sight

WESLEY - Police in this small Northern Iowa town were tipped off about possible nefarious activities and then raided a home when they noticed illegal drugs left in plain sight.

WESLEY – Police in this small Northern Iowa town were tipped off about possible nefarious activities and then raided a home when they noticed illegal drugs left in plain sight.

On May 14, 2024, at about 8:10 PM, Kossuth county deputies were at 208 Main Street East in Wesley investigating a report of possible illegal drug usage. While contacting the resident, illegal drugs and/or paraphernalia were visible in plain sight of the officers. The residence was secured, and a search warrant was applied for and approved by a judge.

As a result of the investigation, Cristian L. Garrett, age 50 of Wesley, formerly from Rockwell City, was arrested and charged with:

• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Simple Misd)

• Possession of Marijuana, 3’d or subsequent offense (Agg. Misd)

Garrett was booked into the Kossuth County Jail where he will await his initial appearance.
