WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator Charles Grassley today announced that he wrote a letter to a Mason City man thanking him for a hand-made pen.
Grassley posed for the letter in the Hart Senate Office Building, according to his social media post. He announced, “I wrote Karl Zimmerman, World War 2 veteran from Mason City, a thank you note for his handmade personalized pens Karl made for all 100 senators. Quite a project!!”
At least he has the social grace to send a “Thank You” note for a gift.
I’m in my 50’s and I was brought up that this was proper etiquette. To not send a note, call, or other wise respond is beyond rude.
Clearly a hard working republican
