NIACC’s Buford earns ICCAC weekly honor

MASON CITY – For the second time this season, NIACC’s Jada Buford has been selected as the ICCAC women’s basketball player of the week for the week of Feb. 11-17.

Buford, a freshman guard, scored a career-high 42 points in the No. 2 Lady Trojans’ 101-66 victory over Little Priest Tribal College on Feb. 13. It was the second time this season that Buford scored at least 40 points in a game.

Against Little Priest, Buford was 16 of 33 from the field and made three three-point field goals while going 7 of 9 from the line.

Buford is averaging 20.5 points per game heading into Wednesday’s game at Iowa Lakes.

It is the sixth time this season that a NIACC women’s player has earned the weekly ICCAC honor.
