OBIT: Joan C. Cordle

Joan C. Cordle, 87, of Manly died December 6, 2018.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30am Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 410 N. Broadway, Manly.

Visitation will be held from 4-6pm Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Bride Colonial Chapel, 110 East Spring Street, Manly with a scriptural wake service at 4:00pm.

Joan C. Weingartz was born on November 8, 1931, daughter of Joseph and Matilda (Biedschied) Weingartz in Mankato, MN. She graduated valedictorian from Loyola High School before attending and graduating from Mankato Business School. After graduating business school, she moved to Mason City to work for Standard Oil and it is while living in Mason City, she met her husband of almost 66 years.

Joan married F. Wayne Cordle on February 14, 1953 at Holy Family Catholic Church, and to this union eight children were born, Dan, Joe, Cindy, David, Shelly, Pat, Rod and Jeff.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Rosary Society, and a eucharistic minister. Joan enjoyed baking, crocheting, and quilting, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Joan worked at several places, once the kids got into school, but her most noted employment was as owner of the Donut House in Manly.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, F. Wayne Cordle, Manly; her children, Dan Cordle, Joplin, MO, Joe (Carolyn) Cordle, Kansas City, MO, Mark Hendrickson, son-in-law, Newton, David (Brenda) Cordle, Ft. Collins, CO, Shelly (Mark) Tuttle, Joice, Pat (Doreen) Cordle, Manly, Rod Cordle, Redding, CT, and Jeff (Kristi) Cordle, LeClaire; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, & brother-in-law Gene (Della) Cordle, Osage.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Cindy Hendrickson, grandson, Pierce Cordle, and her eight siblings and their spouses.
