DES MOINES – Gov. Kim Reynolds ordered all flags in Iowa to be lowered to half-staff effective immediately until sunset on Sunday, September 2, 2018, in honor and remembrance of Sen. John McCain. He passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at the age of 81.
“We lost an American hero,” Gov. Reynolds said. “John McCain’s life reflected some of the very best our country had to offer. He understood the greatness of America, fought tirelessly for our values and put forth decades of admirable service to this nation. He was a loving husband and father, and we will never forget him or the legacy he leaves behind.”
Flags will be at half-staff on the State Capitol Building and on flag displays in the Capitol Complex. Flags will also be half-staff on all public buildings, grounds and facilities throughout the state.
Individuals, businesses, schools, municipalities, counties and other government subdivisions are encouraged to fly the flag at half-staff for the same length of time as a sign of respect.
And if the rest of the world was destroyed with only America left. Well we would have a little bit of everybody from the world over living right here in the United States. Now wouldn’t that be special. Ho Ho Ho lol

Rest in peace John McCain. With the advent of social media the politicians have taken front and center stage. Now everyone wants in to that life of privilege. Their kinda like the royalty that exists over in Merry ‘Ole England. Fat pensions, life time medical. posh offices, first rate dining, wardrobe expenses, first class travel, bodyguards, and the ability to hobnob with the very wealthy. Who give them a cut on the side always. And all this on the tax payers dime. When people are alive one tends to not always say what’s on their mind. But in the back of the mind it has always been did this man ‘flip’ at the Hanoi Hilton. That he suffer greatly there is no doubt. The communist are alive and well. And Senator Warren is talking the talk. Bernie not so much. Computers created one big mess. The Russians are coming. lol
