Public meeting this week for Alliant Energy’s proposed increase in its customer natural gas rates

MASON CITY – If you want to give some feedback to Alliant Energy before a natural gas rate increase takes effect, you can attend a public meeting in Mason City.

The Iowa Utilities Board is conducting six public comment meetings in Alliant Energy-IPL’s application for an increase in its customer natural gas rates, docket RPU-2018-0002. File written comments using this electronic form.

On April 2, 2018, the Board approved Alliant’s non-standard notices application and the Board noted that a separate order would be issued to provide details for the public comment meetings for Alliant to include in their customer notices regarding a proposed gas rate increase.

The Board’s April 6 order sets the specific dates, times, and locations for the public meetings. These meetings provide an opportunity for Alliant customers and the general public, to express their views about a proposed natural gas rate increase and the overall quality of Alliant’s service to representatives of Alliant, to the Board Members, and to the Office of Consumer Advocate (OCA). The OCA represents the general interests of customers in all Board proceedings.

The meeting is set for Mason City on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at 6:00 p.m., in the Main Event Banquet Hall, 112 2nd Street Southeast, Mason City, Iowa.

they got your ass over a barrel, where else are you going to get your gas and electric?? then from them. buy your shares of vasaline as they are sure to go up in the coming yrs.

They need to get rid of the rebate crap that all there customers pay for.

Imagine in 5 years or a mere 60 months another increase in rates. It will happen as the economy ebbs and flows in it’s fortunes. Omaha is double are rates as are other areas crammed with people. Same gas same costs to provide. They will maintain their profit levels regardless of supply and demand. Nickle and dime capitalism in action. Pony up your money to debit cards, online banking, and the biggest money grubber of them all…cell phones. They need to drop the ‘phone’ from the name of those hand held devices as they are so much more than that nowadays. More like mini banks they are. And Amazon love’s it!

And while were at it let’s clean a window. Go buy a $2 bottle of glass clearer or let’s just go organic and spend $12 on that bottle of glass cleaner. Or just pour a little vinegar in warm water and if you can find some newspaper to use you’ll have that streak free magic window you always dream of. Next will be Alliant Energy’s organic gas at a premium rate. lol

Silly season is in full swing or as an old friend once said “There’s a sucker born every minute”. lol

Energy is a need, it is a right, so it should be free. I am just kidding, I know that is unrealistic.

However, every time we turn around they are asking for rate increases. It wasn’t to long ago we had a rate increase to build that big plant south of Mason City so Alliant Energy could build that Natural Gas fired electrical generating plant.

Then we give tax credits to build Wind Mills (that’s our money folks”) and then we pay them to sell us their electricity.

The entire energy business and regulations are a huge SCAM.

We are all getting screwed over and made to pay for the screwing and we never get kissed!

They can give our money away to all kinds of grants and then want to increase our rates to cover it. No increase should be allowed.
